Arctic Corsair

The Arctic Corsair is the last surviving traditional side-winder trawler and was built in 1960 by Cook, Welton and Gemmell shipbuilders in Beverley, Yorkshire, UK. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arctic_Corsair)

I created this simplified version of the Arctic Corsair as a “this is what I made earlier” model to show participants in our ‘Archives in 3D: Maritime’ workshop which I delivered as part of my employment at the East Riding Archives. Thanks to our brilliant Trawling Through Time digitisation volunteers, we were able to model the Arctic Corsair in Blender3D using the shipbuilding plan from the Cook, Welton and Gemmell collection held at the East Riding Archives- read our blog post for more information https://trawlingthroughtime.org/2019/01/16/archives-in-3d-maritime/
